I had to work late and I almost didn’t make it to the gym but I got there just in time for class. I ended up teaching the core section from 39 even though we are on round 36 because my instructor didn’t have time to learn the core and we had time to do it. The class was all regulars so it wasn’t bad.

I rolled out lesson 39 in my PiYo class and it went awesome. Everyone was giving it their all and most people were able to keep up with me. We did most of it to speed except the full body fusion section which we didn’t take to 8’s and the combined flow we took at 16 instead of 8’s. We made it through the whole thing too which doesn’t happen the first time out that frequently. I really like this round and I hope they did too. I now have 2 regulars who I do not know outside of teaching them which is awesome. I am hoping I cam make this whole instructor thing work. I really like it. Now if I could only get this CPR guy to call me back so I can teach at other locations…

Oh the studio finally gave me a key! I no longer need to ask people to unlock the door before my class and I won’t get locked out again! Also, it makes it seem more permanent.

I had a great PiYo class and ended up with some new regulars who were challenged but really enjoyed it and said they would be back. They also mentioned not liking the other classes they took at the studio. I have the only PiYo class there right now.

5/6/15

My PiYo class went really well. The Insanity instructor took class with me and she had a good time. Everyone was really nice and thanked me and I didn’t hear any of the grumbling this is too hard for me I am not coming back that I have heard in the past. So I hope that is a good sign. And we are on class pass starting next week so hopefully that lends to more people coming. I had 6 this week and 6 are already signed up for next Wednesday. I really want this to take off.

I am thinking about going to Summit 2015 and possibly getting certified in Cize. I don’t know how crazy that makes me. It would be one heck of a day – getting up way early, driving there, getting certified and potentially meeting Shaun T, then driving back – and then going to work the next day. I don’t know if I can find a place that would hire me for Cize and if that is financially responsible to be paying for two different workouts when I currently have only one class a week and am still paying for the gym. I really have to get this audition scheduled so I can get on the sub list. And then there is the whole being really busy thing but I guess I could add in a few hours of Cize teaching a week, after I finish my backyard redo.

I led my first PiYo LIVE class for paid attendees. 7 people showed up. I think it we pretty good and I hope people liked it. They were mostly all new to PiYo and were struggling through part of it. I had one person leave. He said it wasn’t due to me but was because it was too hard for him and he “wasn’t getting anything out of it.” Which I think was maybe meant as wasn’t getting what he thought he would. I did talk to him and convince him to try to finish and he did. Ugh. We got through most of everything but cut out some parts. I have 2 people signed up for next week already, 1 of those was a repeat and one of my friends. I really want this to take off because I love it and I really can’t afford to just keep paying for this certification and not get paid.

My PiYo Gangster sweater finally arrived in the mail. This was a total impulse buy but I couldn’t resist. It was expensive but it is so soft and warm and adorable. It is off shoulder so it looks a little odd with anything other than a sleeveless or spaghetti strapped top underneath but I think I can make it work. I wore it to the gym and some of the regulars in class were oohing and aahing about it. I am still wearing it now and will be bringing it with me on vacation. I am a sucker for a sweatshirt or hoodie since I am always cold and my office is freezing.

I also led the power section in class. My instructor gave me no real notice and made me like she made me lead full body fusion and flow last Saturday. She hasn’t picked on Megan to lead sections yet (she was certified when I was) but I think I am probably closer to leading a class. It went ok. I think I should have cued more and maybe done a preview. No one was paying attention at first. I think the small sessions I have been doing at home went better. Oh well. We were only slightly off. And I could potentially blame the room since the heat was on for some reason and it was like working out in a sauna.

I led a test PiYo class, with one student. But at least someone finally showed up. I think I overwhelmed her a little but she is willing to come again. We didn’t get quite through the whole lesson because she had to leave and I had to slow some of it down for her but she did really well for the first time through.

3/12/15

My PiYo instructor made me teach one of the sections. There were only 7 people in class so it wasn’t that bad. I am not sure exactly how I did but it could have been worse. I think I focused too much on talking and doing each move and not enough on the class.

3/5/15

It is official, I got my certification / digital diploma email from Beachbody. I am a certified PiYo LIVE instructor. Now to finish preparing for auditions and get myself some jobs.
